Dr. Khatu Mal Jeewan, is a politician who has been a member of the Provincial Assembly of Sindh since February 2024.

Having started his political career in the 1980s, Dr. Khatu Mal Jeewan went on to become a member of the Provincial Assembly of Sindh in 1988 and then went on to become member of the National Assembly three consecutive time in 1990, 1993 and 1997.

In 1998, he took charge as the Federal Parliamentary Secretary for Population Welfare, and in 2008 he was made advisor to the Chief Minister of Sindh for the Mines and Minerals Department.

He then became Senator in 2009 before returning to the National Assembly as member in 2011.

Dr. Khatu Mal Jeewan was then elected as member of the Provincial Assembly of Sindh from 2011 to 2013 before being re-elected from 2013 to 2018.

He is currently serving as the Chairperson of the Standing Committee on Minorities’ Affairs.

Dr. Khatu Mal Jeewan happens to be the only Hindu-Dalit politician in Pakistan who has been elected as a public rep., a total of 8 times.
